Kaws' Untitled Stormtroopers

After being unearthed from a private collection in Japan. Kaws' Untitled Stormtroopers is ready for auction. The acrylic on photo canvas piece from 2000 features three of the iconic soldiers from the Star Wars Universe. Fusing pop culture and modern art, the Brooklyn-based artist replaced the helmet of one of the Stormtroopers with his signature cartoon skull and crossbones. The remaining two are entangled in snake-like versions of the trademark character. Signed and dated on the back, bidding for the rare artwork will begin on June 7, 2021, as part of Phillip's 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design sale.
