Kings County Empire Rye Whiskey
Empire Rye is a relatively new creation that demands a New York-heavy mashbill, specific distillation, bottling, and aging, and production by a single NY distillery. Kings County Distillery's version is a standout. It's made from 80% New York-grown Danko rye and 20% english barley malt, then aged at least two years in charred oak barrels. Bottled at 102 proof, the resulting spirit has a bold profile that includes notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, maple, bread, and holiday spice, making it a more flavorful choice than its mass-produced peers. Also available as a 119.6 proof Barrel Strength release, the latter of which is available exclusively at the Brooklyn Navy Yard distillery.
