Lamborghini Terzo Millennio Concept

Developed in partnership with MIT, the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio Concept is the Raging Bull's idea of a supercar for the "third millennium." Unhappy with current battery technology, Lamborghini decided to instead base the all-electric car on supercapacitors that deliver high peak power and kinetic energy regeneration without the aging problems that affect standard cells. They're paired with a series of four electric motors integrated into each wheel, ensuring the car remains four-wheel drive. The body structure is perhaps even more advanced, created from carbon fiber materials that double as an accumulator for energy storage and are self-healing, meaning that the car can repair small cracks and substructure damage itself. As you might imagine, it will be some time before we see anything like this on the open road.
