Land Rover x Red Cross Discovery Emergency Response Vehicle

For over 60 years, Land Rover and the Red Cross have been working together to get people the help they need, from war zones to natural disasters. Their latest collaboration has just entered service with the Austrian Red Cross — a mobile command center to coordinate disaster response teams in the field. Based on the Land Rover Discovery, the Emergency Response Vehicle has a foldout touchscreen in the back hatch that controls an eight-rotor drone with optic thermal imaging, giving the operator a real-time, bird's-eye view of the field and allowing tracking of objects on the ground via touch. The Discovery is packed with satellite, WiFi, and mobile communications equipment, multi-region power outlets, a heavy-duty battery system to keep the lines of communication up and running during an emergency, taking the Red Cross into the 21st century of disaster aid.
