Taking cues from explorer boats, the Lufthansa Technik Explorer Concept Jet has dubbed itself a flying hotel. Its base is an Airbus A330 that's been customized to offer bedrooms, office space, and a conference area. The cabin features a built-in ceiling projection system that throws images on the ceiling and sidewalls, creating the illusions you're in an aquarium, sitting below a star-filled sky, or on the dance floor of a disco. There's also room aboard to haul equipment, including vehicles, wine cellars, and off-road toys. Once the plane has landed, it turns into a basecamp. The cargo hatch opens and extends the main deck outside with a platform where passengers can dine al fresco or just take in views of the new location.
