MB&F LM101 EVO Special Edition Watch
The Fuller Building on Madison Avenue was built in 1929 by the same architects who'd go on to design the Empire State Building, and it's now home to MB&F's first permanent address in New York. The independent watchmaker marked the opening with the LM101 EVO NYC Edition, a 25-piece run in 18K rose gold, the first time the LM101 EVO has appeared in that material. The case pairs the gold with a black PVD-treated, sunray-brushed dial plate, a darker backdrop that makes the watch's signature flying 14mm balance wheel float above the movement even more. Turn it over and Geneva waves and gold chatons cover the movement inside, finished in keeping with specifications originally set by independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen. The NY lounge was designed to slow visitors down rather than rush them through, and the watch asks for the same thing: a case built to be looked at up close, not glanced at across a counter.
