Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe

Mercedes is following up the launch last year of the new CLE with the performance-oriented AMG version. Instead of the turbocharged 2.0-liter four used in the C43 and C63, the AMG CLE retains the 3.0-liter inline-six of the CLE450, bumped up to 443 horsepower. That slots the AMG CLE53 in between the 402 horsepower C43 and 667 horsepower C63. The CLE53's inline-six is aided by a 48-volt hybrid system that engages primarily at low engine speeds, giving the CLE53 a 4-second 0-60 time. The CLE53 is fitted with the latest version of Mercedes's rear-biased 4Matic all-wheel-drive system with the same nine-speed automatic transmission found across the Mercedes range. Rear wheel steering is standard along with 19-inch wheels an optional 20-inch size. The interior comes wrapped in MB-Tex and microfiber upholstery with optional Nappa leather and AMG crests on the headrests. The AMG CLE53 should arrive in dealers sometime in 2025.
