The first thing you notice about the Mokka KL50 is what isn't there — a large amount of space where the petrol-powered motor should be. Starting with a Garelli KL50 two-stroke, Mokka transforms the bike into an electric motorcycle while keeping all the elements that make it a classic. The KL50 is stripped down and rebuilt, with every part either replaced or rebuilt. Where the engine was mounted sits a 5 kW brushless motor, powered by Sony lithium-ion batteries good for 25 miles between charges. The fuel tank is repurposed as a cover for the electronics and control systems, along with many custom-made parts. With a blend of modern tech and retro style, Budapest-based Mokka created a head-turning city sprinter.
