Oklo Aurora Energy Plant

Far smaller than nearly any other nuclear power plant, Oklo's Aurora plant is designed to provide single communities with dependable, clean power. Its High-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU) is more efficient than conventional nuclear fuel sources while providing nearly autonomous operation for up to 20 years and producing far less waste than a typical plant. The first example is expected to power roughly 1,000 homes, a localized plan that is designed to complement renewable sources as the world transitions away from fossil fuel dependency. We'll soon find out, as the company is set to bring its first plant online in Idaho by 2025.
