Pirelli 44 Ducati Edition Speedboat

Ducati is celebrating its 100th anniversary by releasing 26 units of the Pirelli 44 Ducati Edition speed boat as a nod to its founding year of 1926. Built with Pirelli and Italian boatbuilder SACS Marine, the Pirelli 44 Ducati Edition carries a livery designed by Ducati's own Centro Stile and modeled on the Superleggera V4 Centenario, the brand's most extreme road-legal motorcycle. Even the tube pattern usually reserved for a wet-weather tire tread was reworked: Pirelli's artisans hand-carved it instead from the tread of the Diablo Supercorsa SP, the same road tire fitted to that Centenario motorcycle. Aerodynamic fins mounted on the engines borrow their shape from the tail sections of Ducati's MotoGP race bikes. Three 500-horsepower Mercury Racing engines, a configuration built exclusively for this boat, power a double-step hull designed by the Mannerfelt Design Team. A carbon fiber hardtop, Alcantara-upholstered dashboard and seats and a customizable number plate carry the same personalization Ducati usually reserves for its most exclusive motorcycles.
