Range Rover Electric SUV
The first all-electric Range Rover is moving closer to production with prototypes currently undergoing cold weather testing above the Arctic Circle in Sweden. Following the extreme heat of the Middle East, Jaguar Land Rover's in-house electric drivetrain is undergoing calibration and testing of the Electric Drive Unit in sub-zero temperatures. The Range Rover Electric will feature a new traction control system that takes advantage of the near-instantaneous torque delivery of electric motors to cut reaction time down to one millisecond. Another software layer controls the speed of each drive unit, optimizing wheel slip while reducing dependency on the antilock braking system for superior traction across a range of surfaces. Land Rover hasn't announced exact specifications or availability for the Range Rover Electric.
