Surprisingly, Ford also has the best-selling pickup in Europe too, with the light-duty Ford Ranger — making it a natural choice for Ricardo Defense when they decided to build a pickup specialized for military applications. The Ranger's 2-liter bi-turbo diesel four remains unchanged, but nearly everything else has been upgraded. An external rollover protection system dominates the exterior, with several options for suspension and tires that increase the offroad capability. A ring-mounted weapon system and armored floor and glass provided defense against hostile threats, and the 24-volt electrical system has been enhanced to support communications and detection equipment — everything you need in harsh environments.
