Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection
Rolls-Royce is adding another model to its Black Badge line with a limited-edition version of the Ghost that comes with its own solar eclipse. The Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection comes finished in Lyrical Copper, an attempt by Rolls-Royce to capture slightly unsettling light cast by a total solar eclipse. Mandarin orange accents on the body and calipers add a striking bit of contrast to the darker Lyrical Copper, representing the blazing ring of the sun, with the thing pinstripe running the length of the body painted by hand. Step inside and the Ekleipsis' Starlight headliner features an animated eclipse, triggered when the doors close and the engine starts. The animation lasts seven minutes and 31 seconds, the longest duration of a solar eclipse. On the dash is a slightly surprising feature -- an analog clock set with a half-carat diamond, the first gemstone used in a Rolls-Royce clock. 25 Ekleipsis Private Collection models will be made, with all of them having been sold before its unveiling.
