Roy Lichtenstein Temple Lithograph

Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein is known for turning comic-book panels into fine art, with bold outlines and the dot patterns of commercial printing. His 1964 Temple is a color offset lithograph on cream paper, published by Leo Castelli Gallery in New York in an edition of 300. This is number 230, signed and dated in pencil at the lower right. The sheet measures 23 3/4 by 17 5/8 inches, and the colors look fresh, with only light wear: minor handling dents, foxing on the back, and a small repair on the lower left edge. It is hinged, matted, and framed under acrylic, and it is now up for auction.
