Safari-Spec 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera
Built from 1994 to 1998, the 993-generation 911 was the end of the air-cooled 911 era, and by some accounts, the pinnacle of the series — in driving experience if not outright numbers. Purists might want to hide their eyes at this car, a 1997 911 modified to safari-spec, with a lifted suspension and redone interior. The car rides on BBI Autosport JRZ long-travel coilovers and Braid 16-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. Custom tube steel bumpers and skid plates have been added, and the car wears an olive-green wrap over the original Ocean Blue Metallic paint. The interior sports VDO gauges and Sparco racing seats in black leather and houndstooth inserts and a harness bar. The 3.6-liter flat-six is unchanged, rated at 282 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle is currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer.
