Steve McQueen 1926 Excelsior Super X Flat Tracker Motorcycle

A noteworthy motorcycle in its own right, this 1926 Excelsior Super X Flat Tracker was owned and raced by Steve McQueen and his stunt double, Bud Ekins. The Excelsior Super X was the first mass-produced American 740cc V-twin, an engine type that would quickly catch on at both Indian and Harley-Davidson. As it was factory-built for flat tracks, it has a racing frame, an oversized rear fender, no front fender, short exhaust headers, and a race-tuned engine that runs on alcohol. McQueen kept the bike until his death in 1980, and it arrives with extensive documentation from its prior sale at the Steve McQueen Estate Auction in 1984.
