Suntory 2022 Yamazaki Tsukuriwake Selection Japanese Whisky

House of Suntory's Yamazaki Single Malt Whisky is built on the backs of four different expressions, embracing a process referred to as Tsukuriwake, or "artisanship through a diversity of making." To honor this approach, the 2022 Yamazaki Tsukuriwake Selection bottles each of these expressions separately. Included is Yamazaki Puncheon, which is aged in puncheons made from American Oak, Yamazaki Peated Malt, made with heavily peated malted barley, Yamazaki Spanish Oak, which blends together selected malt whiskies matured in oak casks originating from Northern Spain, and Yamazaki Mizunara, which ages in casks hand-crafted of Mizunara, a species of oak that's native to Japan. Each expression is bottled at 48% ABV and will be available in select global markets beginning in June, with the Mizunara commanding a $170 premium over the rest.
