The Innovators
Walter Issacson is best known for his in-depth biographies, but while working on Steve Jobs, he discovered something: the digital revolution was brought about by groups, not lone geniuses. The Innovators: How a Group of Hackers, Geniuses, and Geeks Created the Digital Revolution is his look at those groups, starting all the way back in the 1840s with the invention of computer programming and continuing up through current day. While there are plenty of individual personalities involved, it shows that it took collaboration and teamwork to create the connected, gadget-filled world we have today.
