The best SUV Toyota makes is also its most bare-bones model — the Land Cruiser Utility Commercial. Based on the Land Cruiser Prado that Toyota sells in the US as the Lexus GX460, this Land Cruiser has been stripped down to the essentials. The rear seat is gone with a flat, non-skid liner covering the floor, and a steel bulkhead and wire mesh separate the driver from the cargo area. The drivetrain is similarly utilitarian, with a 2.8-liter diesel four and six-speed manual being the only choice. With its steel wheels and even a two-door short wheelbase option, this is the Land Cruiser Toyota needs to bring to the States.
