Hovercraft are versatile vehicles, capable of gliding across both solid ground — grass, sand, snow, and more — and water. Yet they have yet to catch on like other recreational modes of transport like jet skis and ATVs. VonMercier is out to change that with the Arosa. Powered by a trio of electric engines, it can hit speeds of up to 50 mph while gliding 6 to 8 in above nearly any surface, with a cruising speed of 20 mph. With the largest battery, it has a maximum range of 80 miles with a runtime of three hours per charge, an open-air cockpit with seating for two, car-like controls, and an optional teak deck with a ladder for on-water use. Only 25 examples will be produced in 2023, with reservations open now.
