Yamaha MOTOROiD Concept Electric Motorcycle

A self-riding motorcycle is the antithetical to the joy of riding motorcycles, but Yamaha is doing it anyway. An evolution of the Motodroid that debuted in 2017, the Motodroid 2 uses active chassis elements and sophisticated algorithms to allow the bike to bring itself upright from the kickstand and roll up to meet its rider. This also allows the bike to maintain the optimal angle in a corner, allowing the rider to simply ride in the most passive sense of the term. The electric battery, swingarm, and rear wheel are mounted on actuators that rotate them to control the center of gravity, moving right or left to act as a counterweight. A camera uses facial recognition to identify the rider, after which it performs a greeting display and meets them. The Motodroid 2 will debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 this November in Tokyo.
