1969 Porsche 908/02 Langheck Flunder Spyder

A star on the track and the screen, this 1969 Porsche 908/2 checks every vintage automobile box. This 908/02 competed in the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans against the legendary 917 works teams. Campaigned by the Martini International Racing Team, the car won its class and finished third overall, giving Porsche a 1-2-3 sweep of the race. Chassis no. 908/2-005 also ran in several World Championship events, including the Sebring 12 Hours, Nürburgring 1000 Kms, Spa 1000 Kms, and BOAC 1000 Kms, notching 50 major wins and over 100 podiums between 1969 and 1972. In addition to its in-period racing history, this 908/2 was featured on-screen in Steve McQueen's 1971 epic Le Mans. The car goes to auction with a high-end estimate of $5.75 milion.
