Since 1980, BMW's GS series of adventure motorcycles have been the top choice in the segment. To celebrate forty years of on and offroad adventure, the 2021 R 1250 GS Adventure is getting a suite of tech upgrades that make it an overwhelming favorite no matter where your trip takes you. Along with heavy-duty features like skid plates and brush guards, the GS gets BMW's Dynamic Traction Control standard, with a new Pro mode that allows for individual selection of options at the controls — including lean-angle-sensitive ABS, throttle response, and electronic suspension settings. Optional is a new adaptive headlight that keeps the headlight pointed at the road in up to 45 degrees of lean and can pitch up or down a few degrees as well. Hill start and descent control are also available, along with creature comforts like individual heated seats for the rider and passenger and 12- and 5-volt charging ports. The 136 horsepower boxer twin carries over unchanged along with the chassis.
