2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray

When the eighth-generation Corvette debuted in 2020, it was the first mid-engine chassis in the model's 67-year history. For the model's 70th anniversary, two more firsts are coming — the first all-wheel-drive drivetrain and the first hybrid system in the 2024 Corvette E-Ray. A 495 horsepower, 6.2-liter LT2 V8 sends power to the rear wheels, while the fronts are driven by a 160 horsepower electric motor, for a total of 655. The battery for the front motor is placed between the seats, while the eAWD system delivers power as needed depending on road factors. Recharging comes from regenerative braking and coasting, with nothing to plug in. Chevrolet also claims the E-Ray as the fastest Corvette ever, with a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds. The E-Ray goes on sale later in 2023.
