Amble One Electric Buggy

Julian Hoenig led design on the Apple Watch and Vision Pro at Apple before turning to NASA's 1971 lunar rover as inspiration for his next project. The result is the Amble One, a street-legal electric buggy from new Portuguese startup Amble, co-founded with former Cowboy chief Adrien Roose and hotelier José António Uva, who spent 14 years restoring a 780-hectare estate in Portugal's Alentejo region into one of Europe's best known rural retreats. The buggy keeps its electric platform exposed rather than hidden under bodywork: an aluminum frame and skateboard style chassis sit visible beneath cork covered touchpoints and a flat windshield. It tops out at 40 mph and weighs just 992 pounds, light enough to qualify as an L7e vehicle in Europe and drive on public roads without the doors or screens of a standard car. Resorts including Amangiri, Mustique Island, and Six Senses Les Bordes have already signed on; now a buggy inspired by the moon can ferry guests between villas and the beach.
