Boreham Motorworks Ford Escort Mk1 RS
The Ford Escort Mk1 RS dominated European rally stages in the late 1960s and early 1970s, winning the RAC Rally four times and becoming one of the most celebrated competition cars Ford ever built. Boreham Motorworks, with an official Ford license, has reimagined it from the ground up as what it calls a "continumod," neither restomod nor continuation car, but a complete re-engineering to modern standards. The carbon-hooded body retains the original silhouette, with the front wheels repositioned to match the wheelbase of the 1960s Alan Mann Racing cars. Boreham also designed its own fully floating rear axle, cutting unsprung mass by 50 percent. Power comes from either a twin-cam 1.8-liter or Boreham's own naturally aspirated 2.1-liter Ten-K, named for its 10,000-rpm redline and rated at 330 horsepower. Target curb weight is under 2,000 pounds. Limited to 150 examples.
