Audi A6 Allroad Wagon

Wagons are disappearing from the American market, with Volvo discontinuing both its US models, but the options that remain are getting more capable. Audi's A6 allroad arrives in its fifth generation with a wide body for the first time in its 27-year history, running 4.4 inches broader than the A6 Avant and sitting 1.3 inches higher. Two powertrains, both new to this generation: a plug-in hybrid with 367 horsepower and 59 miles of all-electric range, and a 3.0-liter V6 TDI with 299 horsepower that uses an electric compressor to eliminate turbo lag entirely. Both get quattro all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension with dedicated off-road modes, including an off-road-plus setting that allows controlled wheel slip for better traction on gravel, sand, and snow. Arriving at dealerships this fall.
