Art Recovery International

For most of us, the heist of a priceless artifact is the stuff of fiction. For the owners of these items, however, it's a very real threat. Art Recovery International is an organization dedicated to tracking down and recovering stolen works of art. It was recently involved in tracking down an original Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger that had been stolen from a Florida airport hangar in 1997; the car, purchased for just $275,000 in 1986, is now estimated to be worth around $25 million. Other items recovered by the agency include a 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, works by Lichtenstein, Picasso, Renoir, and other famous artists, and numerous luxury timepieces.
