Barbour Icons Beacon Sports Jacket
Skyfall contributed heavily to the modern James Bond style, and perhaps no piece was harder to acquire than the Barbour shooting jacket worn by Daniel Craig in the finale. That is, until now. Being re-issued under the 125-Year Barbour Icons label, the traditional waxed cotton shooting jacket, known as the Beacon Sports Jacket, was created in 2011 as part of a collaboration with Japanese designer Tokihito Yoshida. Including classic shooting jacket elements like bellowed front pockets for storing shotgun shells and rear zippered game pouches, the Beacon Sports Jacket was an ideal selection for Craig to wear on his home turf while fighting off Silva. Modified slightly for the film, the re-issued Beacon Sports Jacket incorporates elements of both the original and film version. Lined in signature Barbour Tartan, the jacket is 100% waxed cotton, has a traditional and detachable three-sided collar tab, leather-bound cuffs, and reinforced shoulder and elbow areas for those who actually do a little pheasant hunting on the side. Deep olive in color, the waxed cotton will lighten up a bit over time and form its own creases and patina unique to the wearer. Just like the original, the release is limited, and once again the Beacon Sports will be a grail-level Bond item not all can get their hands on.
