BMW R 18 Iron Annie Motorcycle
The three-engine Junker Ju 52 first flew in 1930 and became an icon of the beginning of the aero era. Still in limited service, a Ju 52 that flew for Lufthansa made its way to the US after WWII and was nicked named Iron Annie — the inspiration for this custom BMW R 18. Built by VTR Customs in Switzerland, the Ju 52's utilitarian corrugated aluminum skin and exposed rivets feature prominently in the R 18's hand-formed bodywork. A vintage-style speedometer was crafted by watchmaker Zeitzone Zurich, and the seat takes its look from saddles. The bike will make its home along Lake Geneva.
