With the LA Auto Show in full swing, BMW took the wraps off of its iNEXT SUV concept. Long billed as the Ultimate Driving Machine, BMW is taking a different turn on driving, with the iNEXT being the manufacturer's first level three autonomous vehicle. BMW views autonomous operation as a choice, with their driver-centric engineering there when wanted, and allowing the car to operate itself when the driver would rather be a passenger. The interior has plenty of tech, but BMW's designers have opted for a novel approach — everything is out of sight until requested by the driver. The open, minimalist interior reinforces the idea that you're in more of a living space than a vehicle. The iNEXT is, of course, a full EV, and BMW is eyeing a production date of 2020.
