Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R Race Car
The C8 race car is here, one year before it hits the track at the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona. The Every Z06 GT3.R starts life as a chassis at the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky — the same chassis used in the Z06 production car. Technical partners Pratt Miller Engineering then take the platform and add the required steel roll cage. Power comes from a 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8, assembled at the Performance Build Center in Bowling Green, just like the production motor, with 70 percent of the parts shared between the two engines. The bodywork is where the biggest changes are seen, with an aggressive aero package made to keep the car stuck to the track at speeds of over 200 MPH. Four Z06 GT.R cars in the GTD PRO and GTD classes will contest the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
