Icon 1970 Ford Ranger Truck

The latest in Icon's "Reformer" line of restored and re-engineered vintage 4x4s is an instant classic — a 1970 Ford Ranger. The Ranger was the F-150's top trim level long before the nameplate was repurposed for Ford's popular line of small trucks in the '80s, and Icon used that to their advantage in this build. While spartan by today's leather-swathed, four-door trucks, Icon faithfully recreated the upholstery while keeping everything as factory spec as possible, down to keeping the manual roll-up windows. All that changes once you look under the hood. A 5-liter Coyote V8 makes 426 horsepower to all four wheels via a Ford AOD transmission, new transfer case, and Dana axles. Fox shocks and Eibach springs pair with a Brembo brake system to give the truck modern handling and rock-crawling offroad performance. Like all Icon's work, this vintage Ford can run with anything you can drive off the lot.
