Lotus Emira 420 Sport Car

The Esprit carried James Bond underwater in 1977, and the 420 Sport's louvered tailgate, extended side sills, and aerodynamic shaping carry that heritage forward. Lotus founder Colin Chapman's engineering philosophy of adding lightness runs through the optional Lightweight Handling Pack, which sheds 55 lbs over the standard Emira Turbo and includes two-way adjustable Multimatic dampers, a titanium exhaust, and carbon fiber components throughout. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 414 hp and 369 lb-ft through an eight-speed dual-clutch, hitting 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and topping out at 186 mph. Ride height drops 5mm, the suspension is recalibrated, and carbon fiber shift paddles replace the standard units inside. For the first time on the Emira, a removable tinted glass roof panel stows behind the seats, a detail drawn directly from the Esprit.
