Mazda RX-10 Vision Longtail Concept

It's the Holy Grail for Mazda fans: A mid-engined, rotary-powered supercar with Mazda's sublime styling language and strong hints of the legendary 787B Le Mans-winning race car. While it's still a dream, this concept render by Maximilian Schneider gives some substance to what we've always wanted. An exterior designer for Mitsubishi Toyko, Schneider has the credentials and here it really shows. Long, low, and wide, the RX-10 Vision Longtail incorporates current Mazda themes like the grille shape and accents them sharp LED outlines. The taillights run the width of the car with round markers at the outside, and a triangular glass panel with a vertical third brake light reveals what we hope to be a multiple-rotary motor. Schneider envisions a hybrid 2.3 liter turbocharged ICE coupled to two electric motors at the front wheels for a combined 1,030 horsepower and top speed of 265 MPH. It's fun to dream.
