MB&F HM12 The Guardian Watch
A 15-inch mechanical robot built by L'Epée 1839 has a detachable MB&F HM12 grade 5 titanium tourbillon wristwatch for a head. The face reads as designed: jumping hours and trailing minutes for eyes, a battle-axe-shaped micro-rotor for a mouth, and a 60-second flying tourbillon as the brain, all visible through a largely sapphire case. A second crown slides a mechanical face shield across the dial, a system that uses more than 200 dedicated components on its own. The 646-component movement runs 86 jewels and 84 hours of power reserve, with a guilloché rear rotor executed with Kari Voutilainen's workshop. The robot's 755 components include a mechanical thermometer at the chest, a loupe in the right arm, and a UV torch in the left. Three colorways, 12 pieces each.
