With the Big Pivot to electric vehicles taking on steam, Mercedes is introducing a smart e-scooter concept in collaboration with Micro Mobility Systems AG. Biggest on the list of features is an airbag and ABS, both nodding towards the in-and-out of traffic urban riding requires. The electric motor makes 500w, good for a top speed of over 12 MPH, and the 7.8 Ah battery gives the Smart a range of 15 miles. The footboard has a sticky, non-slip surface, while the steering column telescopes to adjust to the rider's height. The entire scooter and be folded down with a foot press, allowing the lightweight bike to be carried on public transportation, the trunk of a car, or up to an apartment. While the Smart is a concept, don't be surprised to see something similar come to market from the German automaker.
