Nike Hybrid Fly and RN Training Shoes

Dylan Scott, a Nike world champion hybrid athlete, spent years switching between carbon-plated racing shoes and stable training shoes because no single pair delivered speed, footing and grip together, until Nike built the Hybrid Fly to do all three. It's one of two shoes in Nike's new Hybrid system, designed for athletes who move between running, lifting and dynamic movement without changing footwear. The Fly is built for race day, with a wider base than a typical racing shoe to cut down on the micro-adjustments athletes make when transitioning into station work, plus four-zone traction with sticky rubber and sidewall wraps to hold footing across surfaces. The RN, its training counterpart, uses a wide outsole and X-shaped upper overlays to lock the foot down through those same transitions, backed by a dual-rubber outsole for grip. Nike developed the system with input from elite hybrid athletes including Scott and fellow world champion Lauren Weeks, whose training regularly alternates between running and strength work without a break to change shoes. The RN releases in the US this October, with the Fly following in 2027.
