Polestones 01 Electric SUV

The Polestones 01 is the latest domestic market SUV to enter production in China. Just two months after debuting the concept, Rox Motor and Beijing Automobile Works' Polestones 01 entered production in November, with Pininfarina Shanghai penning the SUV's lines. The Polestones 01 is a BEV, but like other recent Chinese EVs, uses a small ICE motor to charge the battery, greatly extending range. A 1.5-liter turbo four is paired with dual electric motors making 469 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque and a 56 kWh battery with an electric-only range of 146 miles, which jumps to 693 miles with the range extender in operation. Visually, Pininfarina Shanghai gave the Polestones 01 appropriately boxy proportions, with more than a passing resemblance to the new Defender, with seating for six or seven in two wheelbase lengths. One notable standard option is a small kitchenette in the tailgate, with an induction cooktop and storage for utensils.
