Steve McQueen's 1967 Ferrari NART Spider
Steve McQueen took delivery of this Ferrari 275 GTB/4*S NART Spider in September 1967, and it didn't stay factory-original for long. He had it repainted in a darker shade of metallic blue and the seats redone with a stitching pattern unique to this car. He later crashed it on Pacific Coast Highway and brought it to mechanic Junior Conway for repairs. Decades on, the car has stayed largely untouched, still carrying its original engine, transaxle, and Scaglietti-built body. It's the sixth of only 10 NART Spiders Ferrari ever built, and it has surfaced publicly only twice in decades, at the 1996 Louis Vuitton Classic and a 2003 exhibition at the Chrysler Museum of Art. This November marks the first time it's ever gone to public auction.
