Louis Vuitton x Singer Porsche 911 Restorations

The Louis Vuitton x Singer Porsche 911 project started with a request for a single dashboard clock and ended as Louis Vuitton's first co-branded product in its 172-year history. Singer's California and England workshops reimagined two Type 964-chassis 911s to Louis Vuitton's specification: a Classic coupe in saffron and cobalt blue, built around a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat six, and a Classic Turbo cabriolet designed by Nicolas Ghesquière in white Calcaire Lutétien, running a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat six with air-to-water intercooling. Both use six-speed manuals and carbon-ceramic brakes. The coupe's cabin is finished in VVT-inspired leather with a malletage embossing lifted from the inside of Louis Vuitton trunks, and a roof rack built to carry a surfboard or a pair of skis. The cabriolet trades that for a nautical register: a teak-style wood deck lines the luggage compartment, and its bespoke console clock is echoed on the wrist by a 40mm Tambour Automatic in ceramic and yellow gold. Every plastic fitting in both interiors, down to the fuel caps, was remade by hand in rhodium-plated metal using techniques normally reserved for watchmaking.
