Michael Jordan's 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello
Michael Jordan drove this Ferrari 550 Maranello out of the United Center on the same night he won his fifth NBA championship, cigar in one hand, trophy in the car beside him. Ferrari built the car with a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V12 and a six-speed manual, finished in Rosso Barchetta over tan leather, with the driver's seat modified to fit Jordan's 6-foot-6 frame. He kept it through the rest of his final seasons with the Bulls, driving it roughly 6,400 miles before selling it in 2002. After that, it disappeared. There were no confirmed sightings for nearly a quarter century, until a partial chassis number surfaced on an old online forum and let researchers reconstruct the car's full VIN, eventually tracing it to a private California owner. After decades of obscurity, the car is now up for auction.
