Sunreef is taking its expertise in the nautical realm to the shore — specifically, the eastern coast of Africa. In collaboration with Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, Sunreef has converted a Land Rover Defender into an all-electric safari vehicle. Sunreef engineers have replaced the Defender's driveline with an electric motor and battery pack that uses roof-mounted solar panels to provide charging in the bush. The open-top design allows for unobstructed observation of fauna and flora, all while keeping environmental impact at a minimum. Sunreef's founder Francis Lapp was directly involved with the project, bringing his expertise in building and racing 4x4s around the world.
