Tales of The Macallan Volume II Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Alexander Reid founded The Macallan on Easter Elchies Estate in 1824, insisting that small stills provided better flavor than the larger vats that were coming into vogue. With Tales of The Macallan Volume II, the Speyside distillery honors its 200th anniversary with a limited release distilled in 1949 and bottled in 2022. The rare expression pleases the eyes with bronzed oak and subtle red hues — "Reid" translating to "Red" in Scottish — while wowing the palate with flavors of black cherry, plum jam, dark chocolate orange, almond and custard pastry, and a complex, lingering finish. Limited to just 344 examples, it's bottled at 44.8% ABV in a hand-crafted Lalique crystal decanter that comes secured inside an illustrated, hand-bound 852-page tome. Available exclusively at The Macallan Estate, The Macallan Boutiques and select retailers.
