Audi Nuvolari Supercar
The 1935 German Grand Prix is considered the greatest upset in motorsport history: Tazio Nuvolari, in an outdated Alfa Romeo, beat every German factory car on their home circuit. Audi named its first supercar after his victory. The Nuvolari runs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 spinning to 10,000 rpm alongside three axial flux electric motors, producing a combined 987 hp. It hits 60 in 2.6 seconds and tops out above 217 mph. The carbon fiber body is built using prepreg autoclave techniques from F1 manufacturing, over an aluminum Space Frame with forged center-lock wheels. Active aerodynamics include a three-position deployable rear wing and a steering-wheel DRS button lifted directly from Formula 1, generating over 880 lbs of downforce at peak. Production is limited to 499 units with deliveries starting in 2027.
