Chaplin's Restored Mid-Century Retreat
Charlie Chaplin once owned this land, and his original 1928 tennis court still sits on the property. The mid-century home built there in 1956 just completed a multi-year restoration, returning it to the state Thornton Abell and O'Neil Ford originally designed around floor-to-ceiling glass and high ceilings. Unobstructed treetop views take in the land, which spans nearly a full acre. The house itself holds five bedrooms and six bathrooms across 5,000-plus square feet. The grounds include a guest house, a pool bordered by a series of pocket gardens, and a gated driveway long enough to keep the motor court out of view from the street.
