The 2022 Dakar Rally will mark a sea change in the evolution of zero-emissions vehicles. Designed with Pininfarina, Gaussin's H2 hydrogen-electric racing truck will be contesting the brutal race to showcase the company's technology. The H2 rides on an in-house designed modular platform with two electric motors making a combined 800 horsepower. Battery capacity is 82 kWh with 176 pounds capacity for the hydrogen fuel cells, with a range of 155 miles between 20-minute recharging stops. Gaussin plans for a production version of the truck in the near future.
