The Macallan is no stranger to limited single malts. But their latest series takes things up a notch. Tales of The Macallan is the first in a series of limited-edition single-malt whiskies that looks back at the distiller's history and pays tribute to its most important contributors. Captain John Grant is the focus of Volume 1, who helped build the now-famous manor house on the Easter Elchies Estate in 1700. The whisky was distilled in 1950 and bottled this year in 350 handcrafted Lalique crystal decanters. Each decanter arrives set inside an 800-page antique-style leather-bound book decorated with 24ct gold made in collaboration with renowned illustrator Andrew Davidson.
