1990 MCA Centenaire Supercar

After Carlo Chiti helped design Ferrari's 156 Sharknose Formula 1 car, he finished his career with the 1990 MCA Centenaire. It is the first road-going supercar with a carbon fiber chassis, a title often credited to the McLaren F1 by mistake. Built in Monaco and named for the centenary of the Automobile Club de Monaco, it runs the 5.2-liter V12 from the Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV, making 449 horsepower through a ZF six-speed manual. Finished in Ivory White over red leather at the request of Prince Rainier III to carry Monaco's national colors, it shows about 970 miles. Roger Moore and Clay Regazzoni were among the model's owners, and two development cars reportedly reached 220 mph on the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans. The second Centenaire completed now heads to auction.
