Alpine A310 Vision Concept Car
In 1968, Alpine's founder sketched the A310 with a small team, envisioning the 1971 coupe that the company built to rival the Porsche 911, which later shared its V6 engine with the DeLorean. For the A310's 55th anniversary, its design team built a tribute called the A310 Vision. They started from an original A310 parked in the studio and made sketches of its low, wide lines. The new concept swaps the original's fiberglass for raw aluminum over a black lower section, with triangular wheels that recall the early car's metal ones and headlights that pop down at start-up. Color-blocked seats sit beside controls inspired by hi-fi gear. Alpine calls it a design study and says it doesn't preview a production car.
